uMjovo

Blacks Jnr’s *uMjovo* is a 12-track Gqom album arriving on 6 November 2026. Built around a substantial guest list and a clear commitment to the genre’s collaborative energy, the project brings together established and emerging voices across a tracklist that moves between solo cuts and feature-driven anthems.

The album opens with “Umthandazo”, featuring Zeh McGeba, before moving into the darker-sounding “Coffin Dance” with Stingrey and Dee Traits. From there, *uMjovo* expands its circle: “Umuzi Uyasha” pairs Blacks Jnr with Uncool Mc and DJ Tira, while “Mjovo Cartel” features Moh&DaLee, Moh and Dalee.

That emphasis on collaboration continues throughout the project. Uncool Mc returns alongside Misfit on “Yasizwa Le'sgubhu”, Dankie Boi appears on “Izandla Emoyeni”, and Captain joins “Bayavuma”. Other notable pairings include Elevatorz on “Notification”, Goldmax on “5 am In Kwa-Mashu”, and Da Soul Boyz and Futha Mfethu on “Wishi Wishi”.

The tracklist suggests an album designed to keep its momentum through changing combinations of artists rather than relying on a single headline collaboration. There are also three tracks that place the focus more directly on Blacks Jnr: “Inkombane”, “Gqobetsa” featuring Woza Bakzin, and the album’s broader run of feature-led cuts.

For listeners following contemporary Gqom, *uMjovo* is worth watching for its range of collaborators and its commitment to a full-length format. The album’s identity is rooted in Blacks Jnr’s presence, but its strongest point of distinction is the way it assembles a wide cast around him. With 12 tracks and appearances from artists including DJ Tira, Goldmax, Zeh McGeba, Uncool Mc and Da Soul Boyz, *uMjovo* arrives as a sizeable entry in the 2026 Gqom release calendar.
