ZIHLANGENE PHEZULU

South African artist Shafu-Omnyama presents the EP “ZIHLANGENE PHEZULU,” a project that adds another release to his growing musical catalogue. The title, which can be understood in the sense of things or people coming together in a heightened or elevated way, gives the project a strong sense of unity and connection. Across the EP, listeners can explore a collection designed around Shafu-Omnyama’s artistic identity and musical expression.

The idea behind “ZIHLANGENE PHEZULU” creates room for different interpretations, particularly around togetherness, shared experiences, relationships, and the strength that can come from people or ideas joining together. Rather than focusing on one standalone recording, the EP format allows Shafu-Omnyama to present several songs as part of a broader musical offering. This gives listeners an opportunity to experience the project as a complete body of work.

For audiences who enjoy South African music and artists delivering releases with a strong local identity, ZIHLANGENE PHEZULU provides an interesting project to explore. The EP title immediately creates curiosity, while Shafu-Omnyama remains at the centre of the listening experience. Each track contributes to the overall character of the project, making it suitable for listeners who prefer discovering new artists and exploring emerging South African releases.
