G-Jealous Biography

G-Jealous is a South African Maskandi singer, songwriter and performer who has been steadily making a name for himself in the contemporary Maskandi scene. His music blends traditional Zulu musical elements with modern production, while his songwriting focuses on relationships, everyday experiences and social themes. Available music credits identify his real name as Bongumusa Minenhle Xulu, who is credited as the composer, producer and drummer on his 2024 song “TikTok.”

G-Jealous began attracting wider attention with his album Nyanga Yami, released in 2024. The project features songs including “Nyanga Yami,” “Impilo Yami” featuring Thembi, “TikTok,” “Ngayibona oLundi,” “Ngiyaluyeka” featuring Smanga, “Ngqi Ndoda” featuring uSgwebo Sentambo, “Ufikizolo,” and “Amabhinca” featuring Thembi. “Amabhinca” has become one of his better-known songs, while his collaborations have helped expand his audience within the Maskandi community.

In 2025, G-Jealous released SIDLA IMALI, a nine-track Maskandi album featuring artists such as Mzukulu, Nqobile, Mhuqa, Smanga and Shenge WaseHlalankosi. The album includes “Sidla Imali,” “Nhliziyo Yami,” “Ngitholumngani,” “Ngijola Nohlanya,” “Umkami Ungidlisile,” “Awuqine Umthetho,” and “Umaqondana.” His collaboration with Shenge WaseHlalankosi on “Umaqondana” has become particularly successful on streaming platforms.

G-Jealous has continued releasing music in 2026, including “Luqale Sakudlala” with KaMAPHANGA. With his traditional Maskandi foundation, strong collaborations and growing streaming audience, G-Jealous is emerging as one of the artists contributing to the next generation of South African Maskandi.
